How To Make A Mini Crape Myrtle

Today, Bonsai has been considered as one of the best way to conserve trees. Nature lovers who does not posses big properties for trees always buy Bonsai for they are very convenient and does not eat big space. And since crape myrtle will grow bigger, many of the condominium owners are looking for mini crape myrtle for sale.

Get a full grown myrtle about twelve inches or more as long as its size is enough to be made into bonsai. After that, remove it into the pot carefully and make sure that the stem, roots and soil are still intact. If you accidentally detached the stem from its roots, then it cannot make a good bonsai and therefore you have wasted one potential.

Then you can now start removing the soil by using a strong spraying hose. This method is not just to remove the principal soil but also to soften those who cannot be removed by the flowing waters. For the remaining, use your hands to deal them and do it gently.

If you are already done, then you may proceed to the cutting. Go see the roots first, if you think the the root is too long or too thick, then use a knife. Cut the stem of the roots carefully and do assure that there is still enough roots for you to work on. Also cut the branches of the myrtle using a plant scissor to make it small enough for your taste.

A small pot and a sphagnum moss will do for this process. Pour enough amount of moss into the pot make sure that the moss is already moistened. Do not also forget to cover the whole root with the same kind of miss before placing into it. Once it was already in place, then hardly press the moss so that excess waters will be squeezed.

If you are not comfortable using the sphagnum moss, then you can use the soil for bonsai. It is made of half amount small stones and half amount of soil. Do the same process as how the moss is applied. But for this, you have to press it gently in order not to hurt the plant from its roots.

Controlled growth must be observed in maintaining a bonsai. This is to say that its branches must go sidewards and its stem must be twisted for you to control its height. By doing it, you have to cut off the branches exceeded not just on the top but also to the lower parts of the stem.

If you want your miniature plant to have a shape which is your favorite, then you can use small wires for this. Put the wire into the small branches and straighten it horizontally for the mean time. Then use a bigger wire for a shape pattern. Once you have the pattern, use it during your cutting and then cut the branches by following its shape from angles to angles.
